Raising Funds to Cure Crohn’s & Colitis

Take Steps for Crohn's

Hello to all,

Many of you we have seen in recent months and for others it has been a while. I hope this message finds you well and in good spirits.

Once again, on Saturday April 30, our Team MikAddy will be participating in the Triangle Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis Walk at Lake Crabtree County Park in Morrisville, NC. CCFA Walks are the nation’s largest events dedicated to finding cures for digestive diseases. Our fundraising goal is $750 for this worthy cause and I need your help to reach this goal!

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America is the leading non-profit organization dedicated to finding cures for painful and debilitating IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease). They have invested more than $200 million in research and they also fund disease-specific education, support, and treatment information. For the 1.4 million Americans who suffer from the debilitating effects of IBD (our daughter, Adelena is one of them) nothing is more important than finding better, more effective treatments, and ultimately, cures.

Take Steps is the foundation’s premier walking event, raising needed funds for their mission of finding cures and improving the quality of life for patients. We hope you will consider supporting our efforts by making a tax-deductible contribution to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. You can donate online or mail your gift to 78 Lauren Rose Lane, Pittsboro, NC 27312. If you feel so led, please inquire if your company has a matching gift program. If so, simply complete the required form and mail it along with your donation to the above address. This is a great way to double your support! With your help, we will fund important research, patient education and support for millions of Americans.

Again, to donate online, follow this link: http://online.ccfa.org/site/TR/TakeSteps/Chapter-Carolinas?team_id=190769&pg=team&fr_id=6064

Click on “Donate” found in the upper right corner. From that menu, select the 3rd choice, which is “Donate.”

If you would like to register as a walker you will see that choice also under the “Donate” button.

“Thank you” are words we use to express appreciation. That expression does not really convey enough, but we hope you know our gratitude is sincerely and deeply felt.

Thank you,
Maria, Greg and Adelena

What’s New for January 2016

In 2016 we’ve changed things up a little already, as we’ve done each of the past three years we’ve been in business. What’s changed?

Colored Lights at the Roadhouse

We’ve already:

  • Installed a neat set of colored lights for the stage. It really makes the ambiance exciting to have the lighting. A big thank you to Lynn Hoffman on this!

We’re going to start:

  • Offering more lunch special choices each day of the week. Stay tuned for the date. You’ll like that.
  • Having more well-known regional bands play on weekend nights, and if there are more covers, it’s only to cover their higher fees.

We’re continuing to host:

  • First Monday Nights – NC Revelers Big Band Orchestra
  • 2nd Monday Nights – Mr. Wonderful’s Celebration of Dean Martin’s Music

We’ve stopped hosting:

  • Wednesday Night open mic and karaoke, effective January 1, 2016, after 3 full years of almost every Wednesday night!
  • Poker – Wednesdays and Saturday Poker Games, effective January 2016.
  • Our regular Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night drink special, though we’ll still have having great drink specials, just not the same ones week after week.
  • Singer Songwriter Gathering – after meeting some great songwriters who we have invited back.
  • The Tokyo Rosenthal Program – after a really great few seasons! Check out Tokyo Rosenthal on YouTube and Facebook.

Life is constantly changing, and we have to keep changing it up to keep you interested.

Talk with us about what you’d like to see at The Roadhouse. You never know what might come of it!

Here’s to 2016. May it be good for all of us!

Heart

Valentine’s Day Momentum

Valentine’s Day greets us in our neighborhood as decorative wreaths and flags in pink or red; in the drug stores and grocery stores with shiny hearts dangling from the ceiling and teddy bears, colorful stuffed animals and, of course, chocolates. Ads for roses and chocolates start build to a romantic evening dinner by candle light, bubbly, flowers, a present, and a step up in relationships status. In the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Pittsboro Triangle region of North Carolina, you’ll have many choices.
