Local Vocal Band

The Local Vocal Band performs light rock tunes, primarily from the late 60s through the 70s. We cover songs from a variety of well-known performers from that classic era. Many songs you will immediately recognize; others are those really great “B” side tunes that may actually include some of the original artist’s best work. All songs highlight strong vocal performances and most capture the finely tuned 3 part harmonies that were featured in so many great songs from that time.

Shoot to Thrill & Dirty White Girls

Shoot To Thrill – All Female AC/DC Tribute

Shoot To Thrill On Stage PerformingMembers: Tara – vocals Susan – guitar Mary Anne/Karrin- bass Wendy- guitar Amanda – drums

Genre: Rock, Blues, Classic Rock, Tribute

Hometown: Raleigh, NC

Shoot to Thrill is a female tribute to AC/DC. Not only are the girls professional musicians with impeccable skills, they are also quite easy on the eyes and full of energy for an entertaining stage show!
The girls decided on AC/DC in particular according to rhythm guitarist Wendy because “it’s a marriage of compelling music and creative story-telling.  The guitar work is intricate yet not overplayed, while the rhythms are driving and dynamic.  The silence is as important as the noise and the lyrics are relatable and captivating.  You just HAVE to sing along!…. or air-guitar…. or BOTH!” They decided to do a full tribute rather than a cover band according to lead guitarist Susan because “a tribute is much more challenging. You play many songs by the same artist and really reach inside that artist copying not only their playing style but also their signature stage moves. It’s really quite an art and very rewarding when you make it all come together”.

From classical to blues to metal and everything in between, singer Tara nails it all. She is a sultry and fiery singer and extends her passion to her live audiences everywhere. Guitarist Susan joins the band from the New York City scene. She’s played face melting solos at clubs like CBGBs and the Continental. Rhythm guitarist Wendy joins the band from the original music scene. Wendy is an accomplished singer/guitarist/songwriter who has had songs in movies and on Lifetime TV. Her musical gifts even landed her face on The Tonight Show where Jay Leno described her as “a hottie”. The drummer lineup has been a little more dramatic. There were the ones who combusted spontaneously and those that choked on other people’s vomit. But these days, Amanda keeps it steady, parties cautiously, and avoids open flames.

The girls look forward to meeting you and rocking you into an unbelievable frenzy of good times!

New Single “Tupelo” by the Milagro Saints

TUPELOvideo of our album title track song

Posted by Milagro Saints on Tuesday, June 9, 2015

Milagro Saints Raleigh NC-based is a roots rock band. Lead singer and songwriter Mr. S.D. Ineson has described the thematically connected 10 song set as “mythological americana” where various genres, dylanesque surrealistic blues, slack alt-country, straight up folk rawk, and old timey ballads combine musically with lyrics inspired by the mythological atmospheres and locations of american roots music. Tupelo- birthplace of Elvis and John Lee Hookers flood apocalypse song, battered by Tornados, and the ever-flowing Mississippi which runs through the history of rock n’roll, deep country, folky wierdness, long gone american radio, and blind love blues.

Redleg Husky

Redleg Husky is Boot-stompin’ folk music with soul from Boone, North Carolina.

Redleg Husky NC Musicians

Misa Giroux (vocals, guitar, mandolin) and Tim McWilliams (vocals, guitar, banjo)

“Formed in 2012 in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Redleg Husky is an acoustic roots duo that has created a unique blend of boot-stomping folk music with soul. Consisting of Misa Giroux (vocals, guitar, mandolin) and Tim McWilliams (vocals, guitar, banjo), they have continued to captivate listeners in the Southeast, leading to features on the Alternate Root Magazine’s “5 Flying Under the Radar” and WNCW’s “Local Color,” as well as opening performances for national acts such as The Tillers and Kim Lenz and the Jaguars.

“Motivated by audiences’ positive reception of their music, Redleg Husky embarked on a 3-month DIY cross-country tour, “Across the Fields,” between June and October 2014. A huge success, the experience was one of a lifetime as well as a crash course in camping, couch surfing, and living on refried beans and peanut butter sandwiches. In total, the band performed sixty-seven shows in sixteen different states, gaining a host of new fans all throughout the nation and a voracious desire to continue on their musical journey.

“Their debut self-titled EP was recorded in Greensboro, NC, by Daniel Levi Goans (Lowland Hum) and released in January 2013, followed by their first full-length studio album Carolina, recorded at Wild Chorus Studios in Knoxville, TN, by Scott Minor (Sparklehorse) and released in March 2014. Misa and Tim are thankful that the talented Greenville, SC native, David Funderburk, was able to join them on both recordings. David performed percussion, musical saw, harmonies, and added four of his original songs to Carolina. David and his wife Heather just had a beautiful baby boy and reside in Asheville, NC, where he is still able to gig occasionally with the band.

“Redleg Husky has begun touring full-time, so check out the tour calendar for an up-to-date list of shows, and like Redleg Husky on Facebook!”  (From Artist Bio on Reverbnation)
