Heart

Valentine’s Day Momentum

Valentine’s Day greets us in our neighborhood as decorative wreaths and flags in pink or red; in the drug stores and grocery stores with shiny hearts dangling from the ceiling and teddy bears, colorful stuffed animals and, of course, chocolates. Ads for roses and chocolates start build to a romantic evening dinner by candle light, bubbly, flowers, a present, and a step up in relationships status. In the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Pittsboro Triangle region of North Carolina, you’ll have many choices.

Sunday Brunch at The Roadhouse

Brunch Buffet Every Sunday

Since October, 2015 the Pittsboro Roadhouse has been open EVERY SUNDAY for Brunch (unless it’s a holiday like Christmas or New Year’s Day).

We’re open for Pittsboro First Sunday, the day when  historic downtown Pittsboro opens up its doors and fills the sidewalks with crafts and specials for visitors. And we’re open every other Sunday!

We’re currently serving a brunch buffet. Menu changes periodically.

The hours are 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m (seating by 2:30pm).

Sunday Brunch Menu

We are open for brunch every Sunday, including Mother’s Day and Easter Sunday, and in 2016 Valentine’s Day, which falls on a Sunday too.

Our Lounge

In addition to sitting for Brunch, there is a comfortable lounge, some call the “Flat Tire Lounge” because some of the tables are made from tires with a plexiglass surface. Guests can rest their feet and order something cool or something hot to eat or drink or both before heading out again.

With the spirit of a street market, and a wide variety of wares for sale, 1st Sunday Pittsboro is an event. If you haven’t been, you should make a half day of it.

Town of Pittsboro

Have you seen the colored map of Downtown Pittsboro created by the Pittsboro Business Association? You may want to print it out if it’s your first visit to the quaint and vibrant downtown center. A new one has been in the works in the early Spring 2015, see if it’s ready yet.

.

Notes: Sunday March 3, 2013, was the first Brunch offered at the Pittsboro Roadhouse on Pittsboro First Sundays only until October 2015. In October 2015, Sunday Brunch was offered every Sunday with a Brunch menu. Since summer 2016, we offer a brunch buffet.

Changing Wednesday Nights

To everything there is a season…

After a great three year run with Karaoke or/and Open Mic on Wednesday  nights with Raleigh Event DJ, Brad Junell, where we have had many a memorable night and met a number of our future performers for Acoustic Nights at the Roadhouse or Weekend Nights on the Roadhouse Stage, we are bringing Performance Night to a close.

Last date for Pittsboro Roadhouse Open Mic & Karaoke: Wednesday December 30, 2015

We have had very young children, and very senior people and everyone in between. We have had solo performers on guitar, duos, trios and a full-sized band with a drum set, and 5 performers.

Thank you to everyone who has participated, and especially to Brad Junell of Raleigh Event DJ for his steady and welcoming presence, week after week, after week. It’s been about 150 Wednesday Nights! That’s impressive.

Thank you so much everyone!

Look for our new Wednesday night events, coming soon.

The BackBeat in Pittsboro – Dec 19

The BackBeat back at the Pittsboro Roadhouse!  ($6 Cover)

BackBeat by Larry Weaver Entertainment

Forming in 2001 to play a one-off gig at the Ackland Art Museum in Chapel Hill, The BackBeat had so much fun we decided to keep it going for a while. “A while” became an ongoing adventure involving over 500 shows in 5 states for over 100,000 people. From the beginning their goal has been to perform the music of the Beatles and other 60s groups with absolute “like the record” accuracy, with exact 3 and 4 part vocals, striving for the level of excitement produced on stage in the 60s! They play the same guitar models which the Beatles used for the true 60s sound.

There have been personnel changes and different periods over the life of the band. Early on there were college oriented gigs with UNC music professor John Covach, their first lead guitarist. This “academic” period segwayed to the crazy WB Yeats days in Chapel Hill, over 70 shows at the popular venue, with lines out the door once a month for 5 years when Jon Heames was in the lead guitar spot. Increasing outdoor civic festivals, town fairs and concerts have been their more recent pattern. Now, with Zsolt David on drums and Jay Manley on lead guitar the band is in it’s prime. They’re having fun, rocking for all takers on what they consider the greatest rock & roll music ever written!

A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
