About Fish & Brewis
Fish and brewis (sounds like “brews”) is a traditional Newfoundland meal consisting of codfish and hard bread or hard tack. With the abundance of cod around the coasts of Newfoundland and Labrador it became a favorite main meal.
The recipe varies between communities and households but the primary ingredients are these: Salt Fish that is soaked in water overnight to reduce the salt content of the fish: Hard Bread is also soaked in water overnight. Both boiled separately until tender, and then served together.
We always look forward to seeing you!
Come by and enjoy a good time.
