An Eclectic Mix of Local Favorites – Live Music October 9-12, 2013

Another week is upon us, which means more of your favorite local bands are coming to the Pittsboro Roadhouse Stage. We know your work week is challenging, so stop by to blow off some steam with great foods, fun company, and entertaining music. Every night is fun at the Pittsboro Roadhouse, so bring some friends and come out for a good time at your favorite place in Chatham County.

Wednesday Night Open Mic – Wednesday, October 9th – 6:30 p.m.

We love seeing our local talent perform for us, so grab your guitar and jump on stage. Join Pittsboro Roadhouse and Raleigh Event DJ for our 2nd Wednesday Open Mic Night. Whether you’re a shower singer or a regular performer, here’s your chance to shine. Don’t consider yourself a performer? Not a problem – you’ll love hearing what your friends have to show. Cheer on our performers in the front row; audience members are the key to a great night for everyone. The fun starts at 6:30 p.m. this Wednesday, October 9th.

Windy City Slim and the Sunnyland Rhythm Kings – Thursday, October 10th – 7 p.m.

If you’re a fan of classic Chicago blues, this band is for you. Each song is a story for Windy City Slim and the Sunnyland Rhythm Kings, and they’re excited to perform for you this Thursday, October 10th. The improvisation of Slim, Chris Turner, and Ken Yow will remind you of what real 1930’s ragtime and blues sounded like; this band loves the “old way,” and they’ll show you what singin’ the blues is all about. Make sure you get a seat – the show starts at 7 p.m., and you won’t want to miss it.

Graymatter is a local favorite of ours for acoustic rock and Americana. We’re happy to welcome them back to the Pittsboro Roadhouse Stage this Friday, October 11th. Siblings Brad, Barry, and Bev, along with Bev’s husband Dave, have been performing together for more than 30 years. Their harmonies will blow you away, and their rock and roll spirit will keep you jammin’ along. Join us at 8 p.m. for dinner and another one of Graymatter’s  awesome shows.

Gregory Blaine and Rootzie are another personal favorite here at the Roadhouse, and we can’t wait for them to perform this Saturday, October 12th. This group has been together for about ten years, and they always rock their raw and honest reggae and blues sound. This soulful, high energy band will keep you on your feet and entertained this Saturday, starting at 8 p.m. Don’t miss it!

His acoustic reggae and jazz tunes never fail to impress and his energy on stage is magnetic. Grab a seat early and bring your friends – the music starts at 6:30 p.m., and you won’t want to miss it!

It’s the first Wednesday of the month again, which means it’s time for karaoke with Pittsboro Roadhouse and Raleigh Event DJ! We know you’ve been practicing in the shower all week, so pick a favorite tune and perform for us this Wednesday, October 2nd. Not interested in being in the limelight? Our performers always love an audience; come listen to our talented patrons. Come down for some dinner and company – we start karaoke at 6:30 p.m.

Looking for a unique sound this week? Look no further than the Pittsboro Roadhouse Stage. John Westmoreland, a classically trained musician with an affinity for capturing a traditional West African style, is joining us this Thursday, October 3rd. You’ll hear a special mix of jazz standards, traditional African tunes, blues, and original composition when the show starts at 7 p.m. Thursday night!

This Motown and R&B band will keep you on your feet all night long this Friday, October 4th. Instruments of Justice is made up of a group of coworkers from a local law firm, these talented musicians want to help you let loose on a Friday night with their combination of soul, R&B, rock, and blues. Start your weekend off on a good foot – the show starts at 8:00 p.m.

Rain Check – Saturday October 5 – 8:00

This acoustic Americana quartet will present an array of cover songs and original tunes this Saturday, October 5th. Rain Check‘s  four guys are all about having fun, so we know you’ll have a blast listening to them. Their folk tunes with a twist will excite you and move you, so grab a seat early and order a good dinner; the show starts at 8:00 p.m.

Pittsboro First Sunday – Sunday October 6, 2013

The fall season of First Sunday’s is special because the weather is usually great, and crafters and artists have been preparing their new items for the holiday season.

First Sunday is noon – 4:00 p.m. Some of the venues will have featured artists, and music, and refreshments.  The Pittsboro Roadhouse opens at 10:30 for Brunch. Acoustic music will be provided by Gregory Blaine. And you’ll have your choice of the Brunch menu or the full Lunch menu to choose from.

Be sure to come by and visit our gift shop as well!

Folk and Country to Start Your Fall Right – Live Music September 17-20

Though it may still feel like summer, fall is approaching quickly here at Pittsboro Roadhouse. Come visit and beat the heat by seeing our cool bands and tasting some of the best food that Chatham County has to offer. These events are exactly what you need after a long day (or week!) hard at work, so grab some friends and family for another week of fun at the Roadhouse!

(Rootzie is a favorite on the Roadhouse Stage, and we love their bluesy reggae.) Gregory Blaine is sure to delight with his guitar improvisations with soulful, bluesy and reggae sounds. Start your week off right this Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the front dining room.

Wednesday Night Karaoke

Raleigh Event DJ co-hosts this weekly event that will have you singing along to all of your favorite tunes. Pick a few favorites that you typically reserve for the shower, or grab a chair and listen to all of the talent that Pittsboro has to offer. Whether you’re on stage or off, we know you’ll be as impressed by the local talent as we are. Head over here with your friends and grab some dinner and entertainment this Wednesday, September 18th, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Magnolia Klezmer Band

Magnolia Klezmer Band This local folk band will surprise you with how diverse they are this Thursday, September 19th. These musicians come from a wide array of backgrounds, with experience performing Klezmer, Balkan, Jazz, brass band, polka, and classical music. Along with their own tunes, they’ll also be performing a series of Yiddish and Eastern European folk dances that will bring a unique cultural experience to your Thursday night. They’ll make you feel right at home, and by the end of the night, you’ll probably find yourself singing and dancing along. Broaden your horizons this Thursday at 7 p.m. – you won’t want to miss this fascinating band!

Chip Perry BandIf you’re looking for some good country music, then Pittsboro Roadhouse and Chip Perry have you covered! This Friday, September 20th, Chip Perry and his band will show you what country is all about with plenty of familiar covers and a few new originals with a young, unique twist. This local band will have you rocking to classic tunes all night long, so be sure to grab a seat early. The show starts at 8 p.m.
